I love the paintings but isn't it interesting that they chose to show a traditional and almost timeless image, instead of a modern thrusting view of Britain. My image of world fairs was that they were a vehicle for showing off a nation's modernity.

I found it hard to find a painting I actually liked and that is hardly modern. Good points.
